Online AI Chat
Online AI Chat gives users a chat interface inside Willow where they can ask questions and work with the MCP tools available to them.
Chat has graduated out of beta. It is on for every organization and no longer has its own Settings section or a Beta Features flag. What you control now is whether it appears in the Connect portal sidebar.
Prerequisites
You need:
- admin access to Willow
- Bring Your Own AI enabled with an AI provider configured and saved
Chat runs on your organization's AI provider. The Default (AI Gateway) provider does not power it.
Show or hide Chat
- Open Settings in the admin sidebar.
- Expand End-User Settings.
- Under Sidebar Pages, turn Chat on or off.
- Select Save Changes.
The setting applies to the whole organization. With it on, users open Chat from the Connect portal sidebar.
What users can access
Showing Chat reveals the interface; it does not grant access to additional MCP servers or tools. Each user can select only the MCP servers already available to them through your organization's access configuration.
