Personal Assistants
Scout connects four personal assistants to your apps. The assistant does the thinking, with its own AI model. Scout decides what it can reach, and every call runs through Willow's gateway as you.
| Assistant | How it connects | How it signs in |
|---|---|---|
| Instinct | A private page of web forms, one per tool | A password you hand over through Instinct's vault link |
| Muse | A remote MCP server, added from one message | You sign in to Willow and allow it (OAuth) |
| Grok Bot | A remote MCP server, added from a message in your chat | You sign in to Willow and allow it (OAuth) |
| Dots | A remote MCP server you add once as a plugin | You sign in to Willow and allow it (OAuth) |
What every assistant gets
- One connection each. Each assistant gets its own agent in Scout, with its own apps, tools and access. You can connect each assistant once, even while its agent is paused; delete the agent to connect a new one.
- Free, with unlimited calls. The assistant brings its own model, so there's nothing to pay for and no daily cap.
- Only the tools you allow. It can't use a tool you switched off, or any other app in your account, and it can't change its own settings.
- Sessions and approvals. Tools set to Require Session only run in a session you approved, and tools set to Ask Each Time wait for you on every call. The assistant can't approve its own requests: only you can, signed in to Willow. See Approve requests.
- Access that expires. Access ends after the time you choose, 30 days to start. See Access and settings.
- A log of everything. Every sign-in, session and tool call, with its IP address and client. See Activity.
Two ways to set one up
- From Scout. Click New agent and follow the setup. See Set up your first assistant.
- From the assistant. Give the assistant its own Scout URL. It sends you a link to sign in to Willow and allow it, then sets up its agent and asks you to sign in to each app it adds:
| Assistant | Its Scout URL |
|---|---|
| Instinct | https://scout.withwillow.ai/tools/instinct |
| Muse | https://scout.withwillow.ai/mcp/muse |
| Grok Bot | https://scout.withwillow.ai/mcp/grok |
| Dots | https://scout.withwillow.ai/mcp/dots |
Either way, you end up with the same agent, on the same page in Scout.
What the assistant can do during setup
When you allow it, the page reads Connect Instinct to Willow (or Muse, Grok Bot or Dots): it asks to set up your agent and use its tools, as you. Click Allow, or Cancel to refuse. You can sign in or create an account right there.
Once allowed, the assistant can:
- See where the setup stands: the apps it has, and the ones still waiting for you to sign in.
- Search Scout's apps by name or by job, like "calendar" or "send invoices".
- Add an app. Each one comes with a link for you to sign in with your own account. Send it to you, and the app's tools join the assistant's list once you sign in. Tools that change data wait for your approval.
- Remove an app. You stay signed in to it in Willow.
For 30 minutes after you allow it, the assistant can also add an app you're already signed in to without asking, since its tools would work right away. After that, Willow asks you first: Muse, Grok Bot and Dots ask you for a session, and Instinct sends you a new link to allow it.
