Slack
Your assistant catches you up on channels, searches messages and finds people. Posting waits for your OK.
Connect Slack
- In the setup: pick Slack under What do you want to connect?, then click Connect on it in the next step.
- Later: on your assistant's page, under Connectors, click Add and pick Slack. Then click Connect on its card.
Sign in with your Slack workspace on its own sign-in page. Every call runs as you, and Willow keeps the sign-in: your assistant never sees it.
What it starts with
Slack starts with these tools on, set up the safe way. Every other tool starts off.
| Tool | Name in MCP | Starts as |
|---|---|---|
| List channels | list_channels | Use freely |
| Get channel history | get_channel_history | Use freely |
| Search messages | search-messages | Use freely |
| Get users | get_users | Use freely |
| Find user ID by email | find-user-id-by-email | Use freely |
| Create message draft | create_message_draft | Require Session |
| Post message | post_message | Ask Each Time |
In the setup, these read Always allow, Require session and Always ask. To change one, or turn on more, open your assistant's page and click the arrow on Slack's card. See Apps and tools.
Try asking
- "What did I miss in Slack today?"
Good to know
- A draft waits in Slack for you to send it. Post message posts as you, right away, once you approve it.
- Add a rule to keep the assistant out of a channel, like block Post message when channel is your announcements channel.
