Built-in Tools
Agents on Willow Agents have tools that need no connector. Like everything else, they run through Willow. You'll find them at the bottom of the Connectors tab, under Built-in tools.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Read memory | Looks up what it saved in earlier chats. Used once memory is on. |
| Save to memory | Saves what's worth remembering for next time. Used once memory is on. |
| Reply in Slack | Answers in the Slack thread it was asked in. Used once the agent is in Slack. |
| Search the web | Searches the web. |
| Read web pages | Opens a web page and reads it. |
| Run commands | Runs shell commands in its private sandbox. |
| Read files, Write files, Edit files, Find files, Search in files | Work with files in its private sandbox. |
Every built-in tool starts on and runs freely, unless Sprout changed it when it built the agent. For example, an agent that uses your accounts starts with web tools off.
Turn a tool off, or make it ask first
Each tool has a switch to turn it off and an Asks first / Runs freely toggle.
- Asks first waits for the person chatting to approve each call.
- Sandbox tools can only be approved in the web chat. In Slack, where there is nothing to click, they stop instead.
- Memory and Slack tools can also take rules on what they save or post. Click Rules on the tool.
Limit the sites it may open
When Search the web or Read web pages is on, Sites it may open lets you list the only sites they can reach, for example docs.acme.com, wikipedia.org. Leave it empty to allow any site. Press Enter or click away to save. The list applies to both tools.
Limiting web access raises the safety score, because an agent that can open any page could be tricked into sending your data to it.
