Town
Town connects to your apps as an integration you add once. It connects over MCP like Muse and Dots, but it can't add a server from a message, so you add Scout to it by hand, under Integrations. There's no password: Town connects with OAuth, when you sign in to Willow and allow it.
Connect Town
In the setup (click New agent, then pick Town), step 4 walks you through it.
Add Scout to Town as an integration
- Go to Integrations in Town. Select Add an integration.
- Paste the server URL. Copy it from Scout. It looks like
https://scout.withwillow.ai/api/mcp/<key>. There's no key or header: Town registers itself with Willow. - Allow Town in Willow. Select Continue, and Town opens Willow. Sign in and click Allow.
- Turn it on in your routines. In each routine that should use your apps, open MCP servers and check the server you just added.
Back in Scout, click I added the integration. The setup moves on by itself once Town is connected.
Then
Ask Town for something. Try one of the prompts the setup suggests, from a routine that has the server checked. If Town needs your OK, the request shows up right on the page.
To connect it again later, open Town's page in Scout and click Reconnect. It shows the same steps.
Let Town set itself up
Instead of the setup, add an integration in Town with the URL https://scout.withwillow.ai/mcp/town. When you allow it, Town sets up its agent and adds apps for you, sending you a sign-in link for each. See Two ways to set one up.
What Town gets
Over the integration, Town sees the tools you switched on, each described with whose account it runs as. It also gets two tools of Willow's own:
- unlock_session asks you to approve a session and returns a short link for Town to show you. Tools that need a session work as soon as you approve.
- check_approval tells Town whether you approved a request, and gives it the result of an action once it ran.
See Approve requests.
Sign Town out or remove it
- Sign out: under Settings > Sign-in, click Sign out. Every Town connection ends at once, and Town has to connect again, with you allowing it in Willow.
- Remove the integration: Town has no message to forget Scout. In Town, go to Integrations, open the one with your Scout URL and remove it.
See Access and settings.
Troubleshooting
| What happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| A routine doesn't use your apps | Open the routine, then MCP servers, and check the server you added. |
| Town says it isn't connected | Access stopped or expired. Click Reconnect on Town's page in Scout. |
| Town doesn't see a tool | The tool is off, or you haven't signed in to its app. Check Connectors on Town's page. |
